July 21st-I woke up at 3:30am because I was too excited to get away from responsbility for a 1/2 week. The flights across country were silky smooth. A brontosaurus skeleton greeted me as I got the plane in Chicago. I got into San Diego 1/2 hour early. My hotel room was ready when I arrived. I met up with Carrie from NY. My hotel was literally 3 blocks east of SDCC.Everyday I had to walk 2 blocks west and around the corner in front of the Hard Rock Hotel and cross W Harbor Dr. We were led on a wild goose chase to get our badges but we did end up getting them. Since the exhibit hall didn't open until 6pm, Carrie & I hit the Fox Sports Grill where we relaxed for a long while. The Hilton Bayfront is uber modern. Once the exhibit floor opened, I hit all the booths in 2 hours-The WB, Archaia, Top Cow & Marvel. At that point, jetlag was catching up with me and I headed back to the hotel to grab some eats, soak my weary feet and relax.

July 22 The only panel that I wanted to see was the TV composer panel with Wendy/Lisa from Heroes and Nathan Barr from True Blood.I also met@taurenlegend aka Chandler Poling. He's super cool.I walked the floor and took pictures. I met Brea Grant from Heroes. We had our 1st DSC meetup at Analog which was8 blocks from my hotel. I had some pub eats. I sent out a text to dividepictures since I had no wifi. I learned later that night that it was answered but we had already left to head our separate ways for the night. Next time, I'll have a smart phone. As we werre headed our separate ways, we saw Penn of Penn & Teller. He's super tall. We passed by the Machete taco trucks on the way to Analog. We also saw body painted girls inviting us to stop by a bar called Decos.

July 23 was my adrenaline day. Isa and I had a huge breakfast at the Marriott Marina pool. I wish I knew about this place in 2008. I would've gotten breakfast then. 4 signings and 3 panels . I hit 2 of the 3 panels and 1 out of the 4 signings.I dropped theCaprica signing since I didn't think I could get into ballroom 20. Met Dennis Calero and Todd Stashwick. We talked Heroes for a bit. I saw the Event panel. It looks interesting eventhough it's taking the place of my beloved Heroes. I didn't hit the Tim Kring signing since it was too difficult to get a ticket. The True Blood signing was capped at 100 people. I wanted to do that. I couldn't find the Wowio boat to meet Oliver Grigsby and Jason Badower. I really wanted to meet them. I did hit the Milo signing. He remembered me. He called me 'Tams'. Only close friends are allowed to call me that. I also got a hug. It felt awesome.I got my blu ray signed along with the Berserker hard cover. I also got a picture with him & he smiled ever so slightly. Taffy got the best pictures with him though hands down. We got to talk to Dino. He apologized for not hanging out with us after dinner in 08. I told him I was cool with it because things happen that are out of our hands. They challenged us to a light saber fight in 2008. That would have been cool. Cie La Vie.I also was unable to get into the True Blood panel. After the signing, we decided to hit Nobu that night. We had a late dinner at Broken Yolk and walked down to Nobu. We walked in and 'friends' walked in behind us and asked "Why so quiet?" Our response was we had just walked into the bar. They left but not before MV touched my back right between my shoulder blades. Wethen headed to the Syfy Cafe. Leanne from London that the TB cast was in the back room at Nobu. I went back and ordered a strong screwdriver and saw Anna Paquin from a distance. I had dessert and we hung out until midnight. Jet lag gone.

July 24 was the day of the Top Cow panel and the a suprise 2nd MV signing. Also that day was the Thor/Captain America/Avengers panel. I met RJ who worked with Wendi on Heroes. I waited two hours for the Thor signing only to find out that Hall H was at capacity. I should have slept outside for that panel but I only did that for HEROES. I skipped out on the line and went back to my hotel to relax before dinner. Quynh, Taffy and I ended up the Palm Restaurant where we ran into Stan Lee. That was totally awesome. Afterwards we were going to hit 5th Avenue but we went across the street to Hotel Solamar to watch the arrivals for the EW/Syfy party. We saw Joss Whedon, Chris Evans, Mischa Collins,Jensen Ackles, the cast of Glee & True Blood, Seth McFarlane, Zachary Levy,Adam Baldwin, Bryan Fuller, Seth Green and Nathan Fillion.

July 25th was a day to relax. We slept in and had breakfast at the Mission. We walked past the beautiful park like gates for Petco Park. I wish I had taken pictures. The food was awesome. I had pancakes and home fries. We then went back to the hotel. I fell back asleep while my roommate went shopping. When she came back, we barhopped J6, 207 & McCormick & Schmick's. I had some amazing sole there. I wish I had hit the Altitude Sky Bar, the Marriott Marina pool & KC BBQ. All in all, it was a fun weekend but too short. Next time, I need to catch a train up to LA to do some sightseeing and hit the Waffle, Malibu, Venice Beach, and the Foundry.

It has happened-HEROES got canceled

As all HEROES fans know by now, the show got canceled on Friday, May 14, 2010. I got invested in HEROES in late spring 2006. I got hooked on Parasite and watched the rest of that season. After 'How to Stop An Exploding Man', I wanted more immediately. Luckily, I was able to catch the remainder of the season during a marathon on Sci-Fi. My 2 favorites were Peter & Nathan Petrelli portrayed so convincely by Milo Ventimiglia & Adrian Pasdar. I loved their nuances of how they played off each other. Also during that summer, the cast took a World Tour to promote the show. I looked forward everyday to hear about the different exploits of friends who enjoyed the different couplings. My favorite group was WT Europe which consisted of Hayden Panettiere, Jack Coleman, Milo Ventimiglia and Adrian Pasdar. That week was so enjoyable for me. That's when I decided I had to go to SDCC08. I looked forward to the 2nd season premiere. I remember that night like it was yesterday. I was anticipating seeing most of the cast and I was rewarded with the infamous Pasbeard scene and Peter's 'Who Am I' scene.

Then, the season was shortened by the writer's strike and I thought the light at the end of the tunnel would never come. Luckily, it ended in February 2008. At that same time, I had gastric bypass surgery. I was wishing everyday for the end of the strike and I got it 5 days before the surgery.

6 months later, I was in San Diego for Comic Con. I met several new friends that I had been chatting with on YIM, myspace and youtube when I was there. I spent 24 hours camping out in front of Hall H to get great seats for the HEROES panel. We got moved around 4 times and froze but we had a blast. I ended up videotaping messages for the cast and crew that were forwarded by a HEROES fan liaison. We even taped a drunk AOTS producer trying to make trouble between Sylar and Petrelli fans. During that entire trip, my friends keep texting me about how excited they were for me to get into the panel. My adrenaline was flowing that night. I barely slept. The next morning, every news station in town was there taking footage of us. We got into the hall(20 rows back left center). I saw Greg Beeman taking pictures before the panel.
This was the year of the 'Great Elevator Mishaps'. The cast got stuck in an elevator going one floor. Gotta love that hall. Soon, the cast came out and I was so filled with adrenaline at seeing the cast. My favorites were Milo Ventimiglia and Adrian Pasdar. The panel was so awesome. Later, that day I was able to get into the REST panel. We almost met Milo, but it wasn't meant to be that day.

Forward a couple of weeks later, I joined twitter. One of my friends VegasJeff tweeted that there was going to be a 3rd season premiere party. I immediately signed up for free tickets, but I knew I wouldn't be able to go. I got a hold of the ticketing agent and was able to give my tickets to a friend of a friend. For that selflessness, I got a double birthday greeting from Milo and Adrian. The 3rd season premiere occurred on my birthday, September 22nd. I was so jazzed on that birthday. Vacation, birthday,HEROES premiere & double birthday shoutout. My favorite video in fact on youtube is my birthday shoutout.

When I first joined twitter, I had a few followers. I found Brea Grant(HEROES twitter zero). She lead me to Grunny which lead me to Wendi which lead me to everyone under the sun. Wendi Avignone is a breath of fresh HEROES air. She tweeted out when the 'Golden Child' and 'AP' where floating around. I remember my last birthday and she mentioned that AP was sitting in her chair while I was eating my birthday dinner. She always popped up pictures and trivia while she was waiting between set ups. I saw the different colored pieces of tape for all the cast members. Wendi is a good friend and she always will be. I hope to one day sit down with her at a Starbucks and just talk about HEROES, workouts & life in general. She pulled me up when NBC fired AP. I remember bawling my eyes out on November 30th. Adrian and Milo just nailed that scene. I cried for an hour straight.

Hear comes the hard part-How do I express my love for the 'shy boys' as Wendi called them. I joined up on myspace when I came across a video of you wearing the DSC shirt. I still remember the epic YIM chat of 2007. I got a chance to meet Milo at the NYCC with some DSCers in February 2009. I dared him to sign my collector's edition dvd set and he went to town on them. He signed all 8 dvds. I love him for being that awesome. Russ is ftw as well. I want to meet Dino this summer if possible at CC. Milo's character was the soul of the show. Peter was the dreamer.

Adrian-where do I start? I didn't know it was you videotaping Masi in Times Square until you were leaving London at the end of the World Tour Europe. At first, I thought Nathan was a jerk but when this quoted-'you saved the cheerleader so we could save the world' that turned your character around me. I became a huge Nathan?Peter supporter after that point. I loved the shoulder touches, the laughter that was provided, and the waterfall of tears on many occasions. I got the chance to meet you at the BFTV concert in Niagara Fall this past March. I still can't believe that you got down on your hands and knees to shake my hand, hug and kiss me. I only wish that I could've taken pictures with you. Maybe next time.

The HEROES cast and crew will live in my heart, soul, tendons, muscles, blood and on my skin forever(yes I gotten inked twice). There'll never be another show quite like HEROES.

Overexposed to a certain person

I have been overexposed to Zachary Quinto aka Sylar on Heroes. I look up. I look down. I look left. I look right and there he is. I secretly wish Sylar had been killed in season 1 of Heroes. Everyone on the Heroes crew including Tim Kring and some writers love him to death. I don't. TK and Sylar and TPTB killed off 1/2 of the shows fandom. I have heard of a spoiler that may come down the road that makes me just go "EWWWW" & "Yuck" I know I'm going to be ripped apart for this blog entry.

RIP Nathan Petrelli

Adrian Pasdar aka Nathan Petrelli was fired from Heroes. His last episode was November 30th-The Fifth Stage. I feel TPTB chose between Sarmy & Petrellis and chose Sarmy. It has ruined 1/2 the fandom of Heroes. I feel that Tim Kring hasn't really answered the question-why he did it? All my Petrelli Heroes fans are still in mourning. I plan on getting a new tattoo at the season finale. I want a 5th season of Heroes.
